MonoSwap, a popular decentralized cryptocurrency exchange platform, recently suffered a hacker attack. The platform administration urges users not to add liquidity or participate in farming pools until further notice. The incident occurred a few days ago, when one of the developers of MonoSwap installed a phishing app to join a call with scammers who posed as venture capitalists. Scammers installed a botnet on his office computer, which had access to all MonoSwap-related wallets and contracts. As a result, the attackers removed most of the placed liquid positions, causing serious damage to the protocol.
MonoSwap warns users not to click on the link used by scammers to distribute a phishing application. Meanwhile, the MonoSwap team is conducting a detailed investigation of the attack and will announce further actions soon.
