A resident of Smela, under the guise of international aid, lured 73 thousand hryvnias from a woman. A pre-trial investigation is continuing on the fact of fraud, all the circumstances and persons who could have suffered from the illegal actions of the fraudster are being established.
The employees of the department of combating cybercrime in the Cherkasy region were contacted by a cherkashchanka. The woman said that she received a call from an unknown person who introduced herself as an official representative of the UN humanitarian mission in Ukraine and offered to issue monetary assistance. The woman became interested and following the instructions offered by an unknown person, as a result, lost 73 thousand hryvnias.
During the investigation and search actions, employees of the cyber police, together with investigators of the investigation department of the GUNP in the Cherkasy region, with the procedural management of the Prosecutor's office of the Cherkasy region, established the identity of the fraudster. It turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of the city of Smela.
This year, a woman has already been detained by the police for committing fraudulent acts. In August, she was sentenced by the court to 3 years in prison with a probation period of 2 years.
On the fact of fraud, the police opened criminal proceedings, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender faces up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
