AMEX question

what are your experiences with amex? For some reason they do not work in retail stores but work all day for restaurants? sometimes you get decline for 100.00 in a store, but you can go eat and spend 200.00 no problem?

amex is travel card if thay say call for autrh just tell them any 6 numbers & it will gO

i dont get. the merchant just isnt going to take my word. but that isnt the case anyway. Im asking why they get declined, not "call" response. they get delined in a clothing store but work in a food place. so my question is why food and not clothes?
