The Xiaomi device ecosystem has experienced a massive outage.
A sudden and large-scale glitch has hit the Xiaomi device ecosystem across Russia. Users of the Chinese manufacturer's smart devices across the country found that they could not connect to their devices through the company's proprietary Mi Home app, which serves as the control center for all of the company's home electronics and wearable devices.
While some gadgets, such as the Mi Band 5 smart bracelet, continue to work, especially when used in conjunction with devices of other brands, such as the Apple iPhone 13, most devices have encountered problems. One example is the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro, which now has difficulty navigating due to the lack of access to the saved space map and Mi Home app data.
Problems are reported from both Belarus and Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Siberia and the southern regions. On the Downradar crash monitoring service, it is noted that the problems began on October 4, 2023 at approximately 20:00 Moscow time, and by midnight on October 5, the number of complaints approached 300. And this is not just about MiHome and related devices — there is also no access to Xiaomi accounts, and for some users, to the GetApps app store and the Mi Community.
Administrators of the VKontakte community recognized the problem. "We are trying to fix it as quickly as possible, please wait," the response to one of the users says.
According to the Mush telegram channel, the problem is related to a crash on Xiaomi servers. The Russian representative office confirmed everything and promised to solve it promptly.
