A resident of Voronovo is accused of developing malicious computer programs. The details were reported by the telegram channel “102. Neman" Department of Internal Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.
It was established that a 35-year-old Belarusian received an order via the Internet to produce virus software that would bypass the protection and allow access to account data on various sites.
“The stolen information is then used by attackers for criminal purposes,” the Internal Affairs Directorate indicated.
For producing the malicious program, the Belarusian received 347 Belarusian rubles in bitcoins. The man’s criminal activities were uncovered by employees of the Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.
In addition, several more virus application projects were found on the “hacker’s” computer. It was established that the Belarusian received orders for virus software from the CIS countries and China.
“A criminal case is being investigated regarding the development and sale of malicious computer programs,” the Internal Affairs Directorate added.
