The management of one of the largest shopping centers in Europe, Kaufhaus des Westens, located in Berlin, accused "Russian hackers" of a cyber attack.
"Kaufhaus des Westens has been struggling with major IT issues since the weekend. The reason is that cybercriminals from Russia launched an attack on KaDeWe Group's networks on Friday night, " Bild quotes the text of the letter from the head of Michael Peterseim.
According to him, hacking was prevented at an early stage, but the consequences are large-scale: cashless payment is not possible in the shopping center, and all IT systems were switched to emergency offline mode.
At the same time, Peterseim did not specify whether the data of shopping center buyers was leaked as a result of a cyber attack.
Earlier, the sites of the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia", which opened on November 4 at VDNH, were subjected to a massive hacker attack with a capacity of at least 0.5 Tb/s. It was carried out through a controlled botnet network located in Ukraine, as well as in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Japan and other unfriendly countries.
