A Russian-speaking hacker who has collaborated with a number of well-known darknet associations spoke about the current balance of power in the cybercriminal services market, in particular, he noted that members of the REvil community could take a two-month leave to ensure their safety. In an interview with Lenta.ru, the hacker explained that they were prompted to do so by the mysterious disappearance of Unknown, an active representative of REvil.

“Many in one way or another came across the user Unknown, who was the official mouthpiece of the group on the darknet. He disappeared this summer, nothing is known about his fate. - said the hacker.

Nevertheless, the cybercriminal does not exclude the possibility that Unknown could get sick with coronavirus, get hurt in an accident, or even go out of business.

In addition, the hacker appreciated the emergence of the BlackMatter group, whose members call themselves the new leaders of the cybercriminal world. He mentioned that these cybercriminals have abandoned attacks on American critical infrastructure in order not to fall into the field of view of the intelligence services.

In addition, the hacker spoke about the problems in life due to the specifics of his work.

"This is a very time-consuming job. Chronic fatigue, burnout, deadlines - all these words from the life of ordinary office workers are relevant for malware developers," said the "Russian hacker."

He noted that he sleeps no more than 4-5 hours a day for many years. Not only stress plays a role in this, but also the need to spend the daytime with family members without arousing suspicion in them.

Noting the negative aspects of life outside the law, the hacker made a reservation that high earnings reconcile with lack of sleep and the excessive demands of employers.
