Kirov police officers detained a hacker of other people's accounts in Arzamas

In the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Verkhnekamsky", a resident of Kirsa applied with a statement about hacking his account in one of the popular social networks. An unknown person under his name began sending letters to friends in the group asking them to lend money. The amount appeared small-2.5 thousand rubles, so one of the friends did not see the trick and transferred the money to the account specified in the correspondence. Other attempts to get hold of the money by deception were not successful.

As a result of solving the crime, employees of the Department for Combating Cybercrime (OBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kirov region established that the victim's account was logged in from the IP address of a resident of Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod region. Having left on a business trip, the police detained the alleged attacker, he confessed to committing the crime. His computer and bank cards were confiscated.

The young man was charged under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal access to computer information". The article provides for a maximum penalty of up to 4 years imprisonment.

His involvement in other episodes of illegal activity is established.
