There is a new topic for discussion in the criminal community.
German law enforcement agencies conducted a successful operation to seize the servers of the Kingdom Market darknet market, known for selling drugs, malware, forged documents and other tools for cybercriminals.
Currently, the Kingdom Market server infrastructure is being analyzed to identify the individuals behind the site's operation. One of the alleged Kingdom Market-related individuals was identified as Alan Bill, a Slovak national also known by the pseudonym "Vendor". Law enforcement agencies of the United States, Switzerland and Moldova also participated in the operation.
Kingdom Market is an English-language trading platform that has been operating since March 2021. It offered more than 42,000 products, including about 3,600 products from Germany. German police allege that "tens of thousands of customer accounts and several hundred merchant accounts" were registered on the marketplace. The site's operators accepted Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero and Zcash cryptocurrencies for payment, and also received a 3% commission for processing sales of illegal goods through the platform.
This is the second major closure of the dark site this week after the US Department of Justice announced that the FBI had successfully penetrated the ALPHV (BlackCat) ransomware group's infrastructure. The operation allowed agents to monitor the actions of hackers and obtain keys to decrypt data.
The incident became known after the group's negotiation and data leakage sites on the Tor network suddenly stopped working on December 7 . ALPHV administrators blamed the problem on a hosting problem, but it soon became clear that the cause was a law enforcement operation. The operation was conducted by police and investigative agencies from the United States, Europol, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, Spain and Austria.
