The media report that more than 100,000 Russian bank card details are published for free on carding forums. Experts believe that the criminals were trying to urgently "monetize" the databases at their disposal, which have now lost their value.

According to Kommersant, at least one offer for the sale of 100,000 Russian bank card records has appeared on the darknet in the past few days, as Ashot Oganesyan, founder of the DLBI darknet intelligence and monitoring service, told reporters.:

"A certain English-speaking user sold it on the forum, but the ad was removed, as "working on RU" is prohibited on the forum."

At the same time, RTM Group manager Yevgeny Tsarev told the publication that mass attempts to write off funds from the accounts of Russian clients have been observed since February 26, and the mass leaks themselves "occurred much earlier." According to him, in the last week, attackers have been trying to make transfers even from blocked cards, as well as from expired cards.:

"There is a feeling that criminals have become dramatically more active, as well as ordinary citizens, urgently trying to monetize the bases that they had much earlier."

According to Tsarev, in recent days there have really been a lot of ads about the sale of these cards, since now there is almost no use from these dumps. Oganesyan also agrees with this opinion, saying that the hype is due to the fact that Western carders are "dumping stocks of stolen Russian cards", since they can no longer be used abroad.

Analysts also note an increase in the number of offers for the sale of data from compromised foreign cards, for example, in just one day (March 7, 2022), more than a hundred new sites for their sale appeared. Sergey Trukhachev, Head of the Special Services unit of Infosecurity a Softline Company, said::

"Foreign bank cards can be used for purchases on foreign platforms. Taking into account the fact that international cooperation in the law enforcement sphere is now going through hard times, the demand for dumps of Western banks ' cards will only grow."
