The Philippine authorities announced the seizure of a record batch of SIM cards in the city of Pasig, which should have been, but did not come to the disposal of fraudsters and cybercriminals. Local media with reference to the Center for Investigation and Coordination of Cybercrime (CICC) report that we are talking about 90 thousand SIM cards.

"Sim cards have been registered and contain a full set of data, including names and addresses. However, all this information is fake. We often found traces of such SIM cards in cases of mass fraud and fraud," said Alexander Ramos, Deputy Secretary of the CICC.

He added that the recipient of the seized SIM cards was a person who apparently ran a shop selling them. Ramos did not respond to a question about whether the man had been detained. According to him, during one of the recent raids, CICC specialists managed to detain a person who could forge up to 300 cards daily.
