I use cards in sweden, i try the chip 3 times and then i swipe and tell them that i dont have any pin. Then i sign and show them my id. Have never been any problem. But i use 201 cards from other Eu countrys. It´s mostly up to you how you talk and the behavior with the shop assistant.
